Kalpa Vriksha Satyananda is a School of Yoga founded by Swami Ishananda Saraswati, in order to spread the science of yoga according to the system exposed by Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati, a disciple of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh.
This system is based on the teachings of Samkhya, Vedanta and Tantra and is transmitted through the tradition of Saraswati Sannyasin, of the Bihar School of Yoga and of the Bihar Yoga Bharati.
Kalpa Vriksha Satyananda is connected to the Bihar Yoga Bharati (University of Advanced Yogic Studies, Munger, India); affiliated to IYF (International Yoga Fellowship) and to EYTF (European Yoga Teachers Fellowship).
Bihar Yoga Bharati is the only University of Advanced Yogic Studies in the world.
This Academic Institution, founded in 1994 by Paramahamsa Niranjanananda, successor to Paramahamsa Satyananda, in order to preserve yogic science and to integrate scientific researches and methodologies to spirituality, in 2000 received recognition by the Indian Government and has recently begun Courses of Advanced Yogic Studies in Australia, United States, South America and Europe.
Teaching experiences
- 1983 - Yoga courses for beginners and advanced, preparation to meditation, Kriya Yoga, Prana Vidya. Workshops on specific topics such as: Yoga for children, pregnancy, yoga at school, improving intellectual performance and Maturity Exam preparation, yoga for third and fourth age, for psychosomatic disorders, for handicapped people, for recovering from addictions and for stress management.
- 1984 - Counseling to the City of Turin for Yoga courses addressed to physical and mental handicapped people.
- 1985 - Activities of Integral and Passive Yoga with mentally ill guests in residential communities.
- 1989 - Training courses on "Application of yoga techniques in learning" addressed to teachers of primary and secondary state schools.
- 1989 - Yoga for heart patients.
- 1990 - Activities of Integral and Passive Yoga with mentally and physically severely handicapped people (ANFFAS - Turin).
- 1990 - Yoga courses for students in primary and secondary state schools in Turin as preparation for maturity exams.
- 1994 - Activities of Integral and Passive Yoga held with patients of the Psychiatric Hospital of Collegno (TO).
- 1995 - Collaboration with Professor Guy Mazars, holder of the Chair of Asian Medicine of Université de la Sorbonne in Paris for the Training Course on Ayurvedic Medicine, Yogatherapy and Ayurvedic massage.
- 1995 - Three year Teacher Training course according to the Satyananda Yoga Method or Bihar Yoga.
- 1996 - Yoga courses for prisoners of the Penitentiary in Turin.
- 1996 - Yoga courses held in communities for the rehabilitation of dependencies.
- 1996 - Yoga courses conducted for self-help groups - HIV-positive patients.
- 1999 - Yoga courses for pregnancy.
- 2000 - Stress management.
- 2001 - Yoga courses for blind and visually impaired people.
- 2003 - Courses of Education to physical and mental health.
- 2004 - Yoga courses for deaf people.
- 2005 - Training courses for Professional Educators, social operators and volunteers.
- 2006 - Yoga courses for children (3-5 years and 6-11 years).
Private Law Professional Register
Kalpa Vriksha Satyananda has established the Professional Register of Private Law for Yoga Teachers of the Satyananda Method to qualify people who are seriously engaged in a path of continuous training and specialization of Yoga teaching applied to different situations and problems.
