Swami Sivananda Saraswati


He was born in 1887; after practicing the medical profession for many years in Malaysia, he was initiated in 1924 by his Guru, Swami Saraswati Vishwananda to Dashnami Sannyasa tradition.

He was the greatest exponent of the Yoga of his time and led thousands of spiritual researchers, disciples and aspirants worldwide.

Entered Maha Samadhi in 1963.

Swami Satyananda Saraswati


Born in Almorah in 1923; after having remained in the service of his Guru Swami Sivananda Saraswati for twelve years, he was initiated to Dashnami Sannyasa tradition in 1943.

He founded the International Yoga Fellowship Movement in 1956, the Bihar School of Yoga in 1963, the Yoga Research Foundation and the charitable institution Shivananda Math in 1984.

Inspirer of countless aspirants and Yoga centers all over the world, he renounced in 1988 to all he had created, taking Kshetra Sannyasa and settling in Rikhia, Deogar, Jarkhanda, where, on December 5th 2009, entered Mahasamadhi.

Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati


Born in Rajnandgaon in 1960; he joined the Bihar School of Yoga in 1964 and was initiated to Dashnami Sannyasa tradition in 1970.

He leads since 1983 all activities of the Bihar School of Yoga, Sivananda Math and Yoga Research Foundation.

He founded in 1994 the Bihar Yoga Bharata, the University of Advanced Studies in Yogic Sciences, first and only University of Yogic Studies in the world, recognized and accredited by the Indian Government since June 2000.

Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati


Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati, born on March 24th 1953 in Chandorenagore, West Bengala, when was 22 began experiencing inner awakenings that brought her to meet her Guru, Swami Satyananda, with whom travelled endlessly since 1981, in India and abroad.

She has developed a deep knowledge and inner vision of yogic and tantric traditions and of modern sciences and philosophies, and has made possible the realization of her Guru's vision, looking after all practical and organizational facets of Sivananda Math Institution in Rikhia.
